9 Reasons Your Leads Wont Call Back

1: You Didn't Follow Up Fast Enough

Following up with internet leads within 5 minutes makes you 9 times more likely to engage them. People expect quick response time. If you don’t follow up quickly, they’ll work with another agent who does.


2: You Only Called

Not everyone is comfortable with phone calls. A lot of people will prefer email or text messages. Don’t stop calling, but if you’re not getting responses, text your leads and send emails as well.


3: You Didn't Say How You Got There Number

Did you get a referral from a friend? Did they sign up on your website? How did you get their number? People want to know why you’re calling them and how you got their number. Let them know and it will help strengthen the lines of communications between you and your lead.


4: You Didn't Leave A Voicemail

If you are calling and not leaving messages it is far less likely that people will call you back. Leave a voicemail letting people know who you are, how you got their number, and how they can contact you. This will increase the odds of a lead calling you back.


5: You Called At The Wrong Time

Different times of day and even different days of the week can make a difference in whether you get ahold of your leads. Wednesdays and Thursdays have been shown to be the best days to call leads. The best times to call are typically between 4 pm and 5 pm.


6: You Mispronounced Their Name

People love the sound of their own name. If you pronounce it correctly it will help you connect with your lead. If you mispronounce their name, it starts you off on a bad foot. Additionally, it makes it clear to them right off the bat that you don’t know them.  Everyone will make mistakes from time to time, but try and look up common pronunciations of any names you come across that are unfamiliar.


7: You Didn't Connect With Them

It is important to make a connection with your leads. Once a person feels like they can connect with you and like you really care about their needs, you will have a much easier time convincing them to work with you.

                         

8: You Didn't Sound Confident

Make sure you know your scripts and can speak to your leads with confidence. Don’t worry If it takes you some practice, just make sure you keep working on it. People want to work with people who they view as knowledgeable and confident.


9: No Call To Action

“Call me back”, “Visit my website”, “Look for my email”…no matter what, make sure you have a call to action in your voicemail. Sometimes the reason people aren’t calling you back is just that you haven’t asked.
